Family caregivers are the unsung heroes of our communities. Every day, they give their time, energy, and love to care for their relatives — often juggling this alongside work, family, and their own health. Now more than ever, family caregivers are being asked to do more, yet many struggle in silence without the support they desperately need.

At Caregivers Alberta, we stand alongside these caregivers, providing peer support, coaching, and resources that help lighten their load and renew their hope. Your passion and creativity can help us reach even more caregivers — and your fundraising event can be a beacon of hope in their lives.

 

What Does It Mean to Host Your Own Fundraiser?

Hosting your own fundraiser means organizing an event or activity to raise funds in support of Caregivers Alberta. It can be something you’re already doing and love — with a meaningful twist!

It doesn’t need to be big or complicated. For example:

  • Poker or games night with friends
  • Garage sale or bake sale
  • Birthday party (or any party!)
  • Frisbee golf tournament
  • Company golf or team-building event

Your event can be as small or as large as you like. However you choose to fundraise, you’re helping us provide crucial services to those who give so much of themselves.

 

Why Your Support Matters

Your efforts directly impact caregivers who often feel isolated and overwhelmed. With your help, we can:

  • Offer peer support groups where caregivers feel seen and heard
  • Provide coaching to help navigate challenges and find balance

A Few Simple Guidelines

To ensure your event reflects our mission and values:

  • Plan events that are respectful, inclusive, and safe
  • If alcohol is involved, please serve responsibly and create a welcoming space
  • Use of our name or logo requires prior approval — just complete the registration form before promoting your event
  • If your event includes a raffle or 50/50 draw that requires an AGLC license, Caregivers Alberta will handle all licensing and paperwork. As the official license holder, we are responsible for all aspects of the activity, including post-event reporting. Please contact us early if you’re considering this type of fundraiser.
