COMPASS for the Caregiver | Bow Valley, Alberta | In-Person: November 27–December 18

Dates: Thursdays, November 27, December 4, 11, & 18
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Location: Banff Public Library, 101 Bear Street

Caregiving can be rewarding—but it can also be stressful, isolating, and overwhelming. The COMPASS for the Caregiver program is designed to help you build the tools and confidence to manage stress, strengthen relationships, and care for your own well-being while supporting others.

This four-week, in-person course is facilitated by someone who truly understands the caregiving journey. Each week focuses on a different theme:

Session Overview
  • Session 1: Being a Caregiver
Explore your caregiving role, identify your strengths and challenges, and reflect on your sense of self.

  • Session 2: Managing Your Stress
Learn practical strategies to prevent burnout, find balance, and reframe stress in your daily life.

  • Session 3: Balancing Relationships
Improve communication skills, ask for help, and rediscover your identity outside the caregiving role.

  • Session 4: Navigating the System
Build confidence in accessing services, planning ahead, and reducing uncertainty in your caregiving journey.

Course Fee

This course normally carries a value of $300, but thanks to the generous sponsorship of RAM Projects and Renovations (Banff), it is being offered completely free of charge for Bow Valley caregivers.

(Please review our Group Guidelines before registering.)

Your Facilitator: Anna-Lisa

Anna-Lisa is a soul-led teacher, seeker, and Bow Valley Ambassador for Caregivers Alberta. With a rich background in education, immigration, and hospitality across Ontario and Alberta, she is passionate about creating spaces for healing and transformation.

After navigating her own caregiving journey and profound loss, Anna-Lisa found Caregivers Alberta in 2022—a discovery that renewed her sense of purpose and connection. She has since facilitated the COMPASS program online and is thrilled to now offer it in person to her home community.

This offering is made possible through the heartfelt support of her husband, Adrian, and his business partner, Miko Ramsay, of RAM Projects and Renovations, whose sponsorship ensures Bow Valley caregivers can participate at no cost.
